This event was hosted by Family Caregivers of BC It unpacked the stages of caregiving, each with challenges and opportunities of their own. JANET was invited by Alberta Health Services to speak about her experience to a group of professionals and practitioners. One of Janet's goals is to get the ear of those on the other side of the gurney, so to speak. The theme was Slow Dancing with Goliath. This is her metaphor for any large health bureaucracy with good heart but many blind spots.

SHAW community television did an extended segment about a community thinking about the end of life on the one hand and her collaboration with another author Carollyne Haynes. A novelist and memoirist joined forces to develop a program called Adventures in Elderland. We first presented at BC's biggest writers festival, Word on the Street . A quick five minutes. |

The Twin Team worked together for a decade to provide care to two frail and failing parents, ie. Dwindling parents, for the first decade of the 21st Century. What did Daughter on Deck and Daughter at a Distance mean? CBC rocks! They have supported my efforts to get the word out, morning and afternoon, about readings, in Calgary. The launch of the book was in Owls Nest Books.
